It took 13 miles of high desert hiking but we made it out! In the town of McDermitt, NV we were able to enlist the help of town’s only general store’s friendly owner: Kenny. With the help of Kenny’s Jeep and two grand daughters, we were able to tow the disabled 250L out of the back country (by tying it to his Jeep while I rode it!). That night we stayed in McDermitt’s “Diamond A” hotel which didn’t quite live up to its name. But it sure beat boiling creek water in the woods!
