Utah’s Black Dragon Canyon was breath taking. We also got several flats. It was fun.
We were able to repair a cracked crank case with some JB Weld but overzealous clutch slippage leading to a burned out clutch + a limited supply of drinking water posed a bigger challenge. Time to boil some stream water and get ready to hike out for help!
The Nevada desert is quite desolate. Sometimes you don’t see civilization or water for well over 100 miles! But we continue to push through.
We ride some gnarly passes in Colorado.
We get out of Oklahoma, cross a corner of New Mexico, and enter Colorado.

Despite even more flats and mosquitoes, we made it through the (slightly) snowy mountains of Utah to Nevada.
An additional flat, large rock step ups, and sandy hill climbs with buried rocks and steep drop offs made for some of our toughest riding yet. But it’s okay because we’re getting to see more and more of Utah’s beauty!
