I’m interested in buying the Honda crf 250 rally can you guys do a review on the bike and how well it did on your trip? thanks
We had a CRF250L and a CRF250L Rally. They both ran 7400 miles cross country (with some freeway speeds and a load of gear) including 3200 miles of dirt, some of it very rough and rugged and rocky). The bikes ran the whole thing without complaint. The 250L had a clutch burn out on a steep dead end grass hill when it was pushed to redline (coolant boiling) with desperate clutch slippage by the rider. The engine wasn’t hurt and the bike was re-clutched and finished the last ~2000 miles with no problems. Those little bikes are so stout and reliable. It’s impressive where they can take you. And get you back home again.
Loved your vlog! Looked like a ton of fun, along with the trials and tribulations. I’m planning to ride it next year. I’m wondering whose gps tracks did you use?
Thanks.
Bill
Thanks! We used the ones from gpsKevin
Did you make any modifications to the either one of the CRF250s. I just bought the Rally and looking st doing the Colorado Backroad Discovery Route. Your terrain looked a whole lot harder. Also what was gear weight on bikes. Thanks
Love your blogs and videos ! Of the three models of Honda’s , which one was your guys favorite?
